Fostering a School Community

As part of Concord’s Tier 1 PBIS initiative, students get to participate in our Buddy Classrooms. Grade level homerooms in grades 3-5 are paired with a grade level homeroom in grades K-2. Students have opportunities to participate in monthly activities with their buddy classroom. The buddy classroom program supports our positive building culture and empowers our older students to help our younger students. The monthly meet-ups culminate with a Buddy Class lunch and recess in May.

Principal’s Message

Principal photo

Concord Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how honored I feel to be Concord Elementary’s principal and to share with you a little about myself. My name is Dan Hake, and I graduated from Miami University with a degree in Elementary Education. After leaving Miami, I taught third and fourth grade in Tipp City Schools. I continued my education at the University of Dayton where I earned a Master of Education in Administration. The 2026-2027 school year is my twentieth year as a building principal. I have served as Concord's principal since the 2013-2014 school year.

In addition to my time spent working with students, I am an avid sports fan and enjoy traveling.  But spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do in my free time. My wife, Kari, and I share a love of education as she is also an elementary principal. We also share a love of our two wonderful girls, Carson and Colby. They keep us very busy. I love working with the students and families that make up Concord Elementary!

Warm regards,
Dan Hake
